My friend has a pre ban colt without the fence around the mag release. We noticed an empty mag would drop free from his colt but not from my new Bushmaster. We miked the wells and the Busy ended up thirty thousands smaller. Is this a normal thing? The colt had a prefix SP infront of the numbers. It was bought new in 91. Are tight magwells somthing of all Bushmasters? Thanks in advance.

Not all Bushmasters but several members here have had such problems.

So if some Bushys are like this ,is it considered manufacturer defect? Will the manufacturer fix it? Has there ever been a recall on Bushy lowers? In a battle senerio this would be a bad thing but for me it's just mag saver. Just curious. Thanks

Yes, BFI will fix it.  No, there is no recall.  One thing to confirm first is - Is this happening with all (or the majority) of your mags?

I just purchased a new Bushmaster Varminter, and it will not accept any of the magazines that work in my pre-ban Colt AR-15. I hate to have to send it back for a fix, but don't know what the alternative is.  What are you guys doing about it?

I would call BFI, I'd hate sending one back too but it is their responsibility to get it right.
