It was just a random comment on Reddit. They provided nothing to substantiate the claim.

Starting to order parts for my Bren 2. Is the HBI gas regulator a necessary upgrade when shooting suppressed?

Did yours come with a 2 hole or 3 hole tube?

Nice looking rifle.

How does that stock "feel". It seems the weight is close enough to not affect the balance etc. but how are the intangibles?

Thanks. It locks up as solid as a fixed buttstock and is a good height for the optic. I have an HK G36 IDZ stock on the way to try out.

It is very ergonomic and has a perfect cheek weld for the optic height with the riser extended. I will need to move the optic forward because the Eotech G45 has a long eye relief. I prefer the look of the G36K stock. It just looks like a muscle car. This stock has 90s design vibes.

See I thought it looked goofy with the regular G36 stock.  The new one you have on now actually looks really good.  Fits the gun well.

Speaking of stocks, did CZ ever release different cheek pieces for the BR stock? I want to set mine up as a night gun, but the BR stock puts you inline with the top picatinny rail which makes even a 2.26 mount seem a little low. Pulling off the standard cheek piece helps, but looks kind of ugly. I could just wrap it with something, but it would be nice if there was an actual low rise version of the cheek piece.

Im only seeing 5.56 Bren 2's being used in Ukraine. Is this because the military model x39 Bren 2's are also having issues? You would think that they would use x39 unless they are having reliability issues. Have the x39 Ms models been discontinued here in USA?

I would actually think the 5.56mm BREN 2 is in Ukraine because 7.62x39mm ammo isn't as available as it was before, but stockpiles of 5.56mm ammo is available in the West. As for the 7.62x39mm BREN 2 MS, unless there is a major win in a lawsuit, I have a feeling we will never see them again.

The extended MS handguard I posted a while back. I haven't been able to find these available anywhere. Really makes me want to get an 11" MS.

Honestly your best bet is probably trading your 5.56 barrel, bolt, gas regular, and mag insert to someone who has an x39 gun and wants to convert.

Alright folks,

Another what would you do post.

If the this was your arsenal (18" 5.56 SPR and 6.5 Tikka CTR not pictured), would you go 8" or 11" 5.56 Bren 2....or skip the rifle all together? I know the 11" gets most of the love, but I don't think I agree that the 8" is a "range toy" comments.

Although they are quite different, I am somewhat torn between the 8" Bren 2 and a 6.75" 300BO MCX upper for one of my sbr lowers.

Thanks!

Bulgarian ak74, 14" P&W ak74, 13" 556 Galil Ace, 10.5 LMT SBR (perfection), 13.7" SBR. (18" 5.56 SPR and 6.5 Tikka CTR not pictured)

I doubt I'd ever go below even 12" with a 5.56. .300 BO makes a lot more sense with short barrels.

I think the answer lies in whether you plan to suppress the gun.  If so, 8 inch.  If not, 11.

I like mine with the new 3 port gas regulator tube but if I had it all to do again I never would have bought it. No support from Cz and I really love my 11" Sig Mcx Speer Lt 7.62x39. In my opinion its a way better option. If you want a Bren 2 get the 5.56 model and try to get some spare parts like ejector springs, extractor and springs and a bolt and firing pin.
