Starting to order parts for my Bren 2. Is the HBI gas regulator a necessary upgrade when shooting suppressed?

Anyone done the HBI gas regulator service for a 16"? If so what size hole?

It locks up as solid as a fixed buttstock and is a good height for the optic. I have an HK G36 IDZ stock on the way to try out. |

I bought a bayonet for my Bren 2. It looks like it needs a frog, and I can’t find any. Anybody have a clue were I can buy one?

The new one you have on now actually looks really good. Fits the gun well. |

Speaking of stocks, did CZ ever release different cheek pieces for the BR stock? I want to set mine up as a night gun, but the BR stock puts you inline with the top picatinny rail which makes even a 2.26 mount seem a little low. Pulling off the standard cheek piece helps, but looks kind of ugly. I could just wrap it with something, but it would be nice if there was an actual low rise version of the cheek piece.

They have never, to my knowledge, released different cheek pieces or risers for either stock. Sven Manticore Arms |

Im only seeing 5.56 Bren 2's being used in Ukraine. Is this because the military model x39 Bren 2's are also having issues? You would think that they would use x39 unless they are having reliability issues. Have the x39 Ms models been discontinued here in USA?
|

I would actually think the 5.56mm BREN 2 is in Ukraine because 7.62x39mm ammo isn't as available as it was before, but stockpiles of 5.56mm ammo is available in the West. As for the 7.62x39mm BREN 2 MS, unless there is a major win in a lawsuit, I have a feeling we will never see them again.

Anyone able to provide specs on a Bren 2 14” 556?
Specifically if the muzzle threads are 1/2x28? |

Trying to source a x39 bolt. I want to convert my 5.56 to a x39 through mos tek. Any ideas where I can find one?

The extended MS handguard I posted a while back. I haven't been able to find these available anywhere. Really makes me want to get an 11" MS. |

There's a 2S 9" x39 on GB right now. I'm excited to see how much mine is worth

So what did that Bren 2S on GunBroker go for? Haven't seen one up for sale in awhile.

Thanks, I was thinking somewhere in the $2,500 - $3,000 range.

I doubt I'd ever go below even 12" with a 5.56. .300 BO makes a lot more sense with short barrels.

Has anyone replaced the sling cups on their Bren 2 stock? I hate that the cups on the stock are free spinning.

Well boys, it’s been 98 pages. Ive read most of them but wanted to get some consensus. Is the x39 reliable and worth the purchase?

In my opinion its a way better option. If you want a Bren 2 get the 5.56 model and try to get some spare parts like ejector springs, extractor and springs and a bolt and firing pin. |
