Hey gents-

I've got a MM23ek on order for my sear and I don't think I want to link the ammo by hand.  It'll take me forever to link a few belts.

So I've been looking around for one of those crank style linking machines and I think I found a company that makes them.  Trouble is, they're overseas and I'm not sure they'll export to me as a civilian...they might do military sales only.  I'm going to contact them, but does anyone know of a company in the US that makes one of these things that might be easier to deal with?

I use the plate-style linker, with interchangeable plates for 5.56 and 7.62.  Got mine from Guiette Mfg.  Not as fast as a crank machine, but less expensive, more versatile, better than doing it by hand, and definitely available in the US right now.

It doesn't look that much faster than doing it by hand, since you have to insert rounds and links through the top and it only holds like 8 of each. Is there more to it?

Yeah, they're both faster and easier than linking by hand, even pausing every so many rounds to drop in more loose rounds and loose links to the hoppers.  With a helper keeping your hoppers topped up, you can link off a 100rd belt in 30 seconds or so with practice.

I've seen those plate-style ones.

For the moment, I don't see myself ordering the 7.62 conversion in the near future, which makes the versatility of those style loaders a bit moot.

I just want to get the job done quick and easy, either at home or at the range.  I'm not sure how much one of those crank machines is, but it just seems to make more sense at the moment for me.

I got a quote from them, They export, and its cost about 5000 dollars depending on conversion rates.

ETA 556 was not available in march, said sometime this summer.

The plate style linkers will delink, as well.

piece of wood on its side, grab belt and push the tip of the rounds

The fastest way, and also the cheapest.

You can sit a ammo can on one side and catch everything

wear gloves

I delinked about 20k port this way

$5000??!?  If that's true, they're out of their minds.  I figured $500...
