So I go to a local gun shop here in Colorado to buy some parts and see a used Docter III for $150. I say to myself, "self, that's a pretty good deal!"
I'm checking out and (my background is in personal protection and security) notice the woman ringing me up is very nervous about something (body language, voice pitch, etc) but dismiss it due to the environment (hypoglycemia? Its after lunchanged and they're slammed). Well, the next day I get around to messing with my new optic and something just isn't right. Long story short I paid a buck fifty for a used Chinese clone that sells new online for $26. Pieces fall into place. Took the optic back on Saturday and she made it right ..... immediately and staining her pitts that were dry before i placed the opic on the counter and explained my displeasure. Because of their unquestioning and immediate actions to rectify the situation I'm not going to name the shop but I'm telling this story so that others might exercise more caution than I did. I've never been intentionally duped at a brick and mortar so this is a bit new to me. I'm new to this area and, unfortunately, finding this sort of behavior typical here. Buyer beware. H |
