| Have the problems with the rear lug of the Shrike 556 upper and the weak charging handles been solved yet? I have wanted one for a while until I discovered that they weren't warrantied and that if you broke the rear lug off the upper you had to send the whole thing back to Ares and pay $900 to get it replaced. Apparently the lateral vibrations caused by feeding the belt would cause the lug to snap off the upper on some lowers where there was a bit of side to side play between the upper and lower. |

I examined a newer version of the Shrike compared to my old one. It looks like the rear lug has more metal to support it. They bored the hole back there slightly eccentrically up from the lug thereby increasing the amount of metal thickness at the lug. Seems like about the same as a standard upper.
Can't say what has been done with the handle. |

Funny I had the $4k for one when they cost that much and passed because of the problems. Now I see them going for $3200 - $3600 and don't have the money. 
Where are you seeing them for those prices? The interwebs of course  I don't recall exactly. I am probably mistaken. Regardless $3,200 ,$4,000 or $40,000 Those are all figures I can't afford to spend on firearms right now.
Bottom line question though. Are the above stated problems solved yet? |

Ive never heard that before. The only problems I've had were feeding that was corrected with a trip back to the company and a feed insert. |
