I got a screaming good deal on one because it had the youth stock.

Savage "offers" to sell a replacement adult stock, but are quite pricey. I have thought about a custom Boyds stock, but this will be a hunting gun.

So, that brings me to a used or take off stock, but apparently not all Savage stocks are interchangeable.

My rifle is new manufacture with the bolt release button at the front of the trigger housing and detachable box mag.

My question is:
Will a Savage Accu-Stock work with my rifle?
I have been able to find one, but before I commit to buying, I need to know if it works. I have read misleading comments both yes and no in my various google searches.

Any help from the crew here. Thanks

Gotta measure the bolt spacing.   If its 4.4 its a centerfeed mag if its 4.25 its the older style staggered mag.

I have a spare for the 4.25 I bought because I didn't measure and assumed they were all the same.

Ok, so check the measure.

What about the recoil lug?
Does my rifle have the same recoil lug regardless of whether it is a standard or Accu-stock?

I ended up calling savage.

No, the stock is not interchangeable.

Accu-stocks only work on actions made for the accu-stock.
