Just ordered an AAC Handi Rifle for $222 from GrabAGun. I have been eyeing one for a long time, after fingering a nickeled .223 Survivor at the local Cabelas tonight, I rushed home and found an AAC.
I have a Burris 2-7 compact scope I think I will throw on it. I primarily bought it for a truck gun and for load development with out worry of blowing up my ARs. Anyone put a survivor stock set on one? |

Between the forest fires and working lots of overtime, I haven't gone out to shoot it yet.
Initial impressions are good, I really like the overall size. Right after I ordered this rifle, I found out Cabelas had one for $239! Only would have saved me a few bucks though. |

I bought one from GrabAGun as well, I love it. Worth every cent. KEEP the original stock, the survivor stocks suck. does boyds do any stocks? You know, that's a thought. I bet they do, they used to make H&R/NEF compatible stock sets. |

Do they make a .38spc or .357 version? And could one of those be easily suppressed (.38 more so I am guessing)? They used to, I have a single shot in .357 magnum. H&R/NEF was closed down in February 2015, thank "Freedom Group". That's why there have been so many great deals on the remaining inventory that was purchased by distributors. |
| I have an H&R single shot in 45-70 and one in .20 gauge shotgun. The former is for our single shot "primative weapons" deer season. Very strong medicine on whitetail deer inside 150 yards. The latter is my barn gun for critters. Simple, strong, light, quick handling basic tools. No frills, but they simply work. Both of mine have wood stocks, and the triggers are really not so bad on these two specimens, no worse than milspec AR, and better than some. |

We've got the H&R .22/.410 combo youth. Father in law gave it to my son for Christmas when he was about 9. Both my kids shot it quite a bit but like the 10/22 better now. Pulling back the hammer got old for them. Plus it's a bit cumbersome with the scope on it.
I'm going to keep it around for critter defense but need to put an optic on it. I can't shoot the fiber optic irons it came with for crap. I wonder what some .410 rifled slugs would be like shooting it scoped.......... |
