Looking at getting a bipod for my bolt gun.  Most of shooting is done in prone or from a bench.  Did a search on leg height, but no clear answer.  Is the 9-13 inch models the best all around choice for these type shooting positions?

6-9” is better for bench.

I'm a big guy and had trouble with my buddy's 6-9 when prone. I'm glad I got a chance to use his before I purchased, definitely 9-13 is the way to go for me.

Of course if you're not 6'3", it might be rather tall for bench.

Agreed.  I also prefer it when prone.

I'm 6'4" and use a 6-9 shooting prone frequently. I use the same bipod shooting off a bench. Unless I am completely missing the boat, I am having trouble seeing the correlation between your body's height and the bipod's height.  There are times I shoot my Atlas when it is sitting about 4" off the ground...

When you're taller, you tend to have longer arms. To reduce height when prone while maintaining eye relief, I can either push my elbows out to the side further, which forces my wrist to more of a right angle and loses natural point of aim, or tuck in and back, losing some stability.

The difference sitting is probably more pronounced (also depends on the bench), but I definitely wasn't comfortable shooting the 6-9. If it works for you, great. I don't have any plans shooting where I have to worry about exposing myself to incoming fire, so comfort wins out for me.

I'm 6'3" and agree with you.  You want to be as low as possible.  I shoot from the prone on the lowest setting of the 6-9"...only issue would be on a downhill etc. when you might want more height because the bipod is on lower ground than the rest of your body.
