Quoted: what do you think of the kel-tec su16? good or??? No matter what you do, it's still a kel-tec. Unless weight was the overriding factor, I'd trust a Hi-Point carbine before the SU16. No offense meant to any kel-tec owners. Except for one pistol, I've never had a kel-tec that worked reliably (for very long). Some guys have the patience to get the carbines running reliably,.. but they don't stay trustworthy very long. Good enough for a range-toy, but certainly not something you'd want to bet your life on. Have you considered an AR in 9mm (even the Oly that takes Glock 18 mags)? They're cheaper in the long haul. Before you call me crazy ... what I mean is, if/when you ever decide to sell it you'll get almost the original price back for an AR, but used kel-tecs sell for very little. JMHO... |
| I owned an SU 16A for several year. Always ran good. I got it because I used to be a QA engineer and the whole plastic receiver thing intrigued. It folded up nice and was easy to pack around. When I got it I also got 1,000 round or Wolf ammunition to run through it. I shot it all off in two days. Not one malfunction the entire time I owned it. Got rid of it as I am thinning the herd as I approach retirement. A lot easier to clean than an AR, Great warranty service too. |
| I had the pistol version (PLR-16) for a few years, bought it new and never gave me any issues, accuracy was good for a short barrel shooting 55 gr. and ran all kinds of ammo including steel. I don't see many of the rifles for sale, and when I do they're usually way over MSRP. |
