Help please. i picked up this stainless Mini-14 (183 serial prefix) in a package deal. I have never seen a barrel like this on a Mini-14. It looks like a bull barrel or maybe the front sight has just been removed. Notice how it is thick until it tapers down right before the barrel band. Any help on this would be appreciated.

It may be a Accuracy Systems Inc build.

Looks good.  As much as I like real wood, those stainless + synthetic ones are sexy as well.

Any idea what a good selling value would be on this? Or what premium this adds?

You are all wrong. its a shilen 20' Bull barrel you purchase off of midway or in brownells for $300. The ASI's use a new gas block and charging handle.

I had my mini rebarelled that way back in 05 before i got into AR's it took my 4' groups down to about 1 1/2 MOA. It still strings vertically but you have to really heat it up first unlike the first barrel on my mini. One of these days i am going to have mine turned down to .750 ,shorten to 16' and threaded.

No idea what it is.  Most mfrs are not reluctant to make marks on their barrels.  I'd like to see what the bbl looks like underneath the handguard
