| CZ has two rifles I'm interested in, a 223 full stock, the 527 FS, and a 308 full stock, the 550 FS. Anyone have experience with either of these two? |

I have shot the CZ803 Bren on semi, 2RB and FA. Not a bad weapon but there are better. Flaws were...weight, kick, CH on right can hit thumbs, stock got stuck and bulky mags Which has nothing to do with the question asked. big +1 the 803 and related models are assault rifles, the 527 is a mauser style bolt action. But, sometimes people have stories no matter how unrelated they are to the topic at hand... |

I have the 550 FS. While I like the rifle, the detachable magazine keeps dropping out of the rifle under recoil periodically I think the problem that I have with the magazine is just a fluke and not a common occurrence, though. If I were you, I'd get one. The factory irons have a very short radius, but more than capable at hitting a 12" circle out to 200 yards. Besides, the rifle was meant to be scoped, with the irons used as a back up. The action is very long for a .308 (it looks like a 30-06). The trigger is very crisp and it also has a setting for an ultra light trigger pull, which is VERY light. I wouldn't recommend walking around with the trigger set in that setting - if the rifle was dropped, it is liable to go off. If you like shooting irons, you can order a peep sight form NECG (it installs on the scope base) and with that you can shoot out to 300 yards all day long, but you will need to get a taller front sight if choosing that route. Sorry for rambling on and on; I just got off my night shift and pretty much brain dead. |

I don't really have anything pertinent to the OP's question.
Have no idea about the 803, lol, but I do have a 452 FS and a 452 ultra lux. While those are both .22's, my opinion of the FS is that it is an extremely nice stock and well made. It just feels good in your hands. Not sure how much of that is applicable to centerfire models, but hopefully it helped. |
| And also, I should mention if you're into rifles that have very smooth, glossy finish (on both the metal and the wood stock), you may be a little disappointed on the CZ. Don't get me wrong; these rifles are still VERY WELL finished, but with much less......should I say "glam" compared to a Remington BDL, for example. |
