I was thinking of getting one of these because Bass pro will have it on sale for 59.99 the week of Aug 2. I was wondering if anyone has one or has heard anything about it. Is it a pretty good one I really dont know anything about them other then it will be on sale. I have a gift card so was gonna use it on this and am wondering if I was wasting my money I have never used one.. Any comments appreciated.
Thanks

I have the older, simpler model that I paid around 30 bucks for a few years ago. Midway promotion, IIRC. (?)
I'm happy with it, but I didn't expect it to replace my heavy vises for serious gun work.  ( It's designed for light work-cleaning and scope-mounting, and it works great for that kind of use.)
The parts tray and bottle holders are really nice for keeping track of small parts, patches and solvents.

It is also very handy for boresighting.

The model you linked to is more adjustable for pistols etc, I guess.
I doubt that you'd regret getting one.

Thank you for the reply I would only be doing minor things like you mentioned. I appreciate the feed back.

I have the one your looking at. It works well as a third hand. I use mine for a lot of different things as mentioned above. Yes, you can use it for pistols by sliding off the back section (with the locks) and remounting it backwards. Its worth it just to have for my winter cleaning.

That Tipton looks real nice, especially for $60. I have the MTM at this link. If I didn't already have this MTM, I would go for the Tipton for $60. I found this MTM at the LGS for $20, in the box, several years ago.

I have one.  For $60 get it.  I think I paid $89 on special in 2005 or so, and I have not regretted the purchase.  But as was mentioned, it isn't really a vise for any serious work.  Cleaning and scope work basically.  The only thing to keep in mind, it is pretty big.  I was surprised how much space it took up when I first put it together.  For me at least, even though it is pictured with a rifle, I just didn't think it would take up that much space.  I guess you could say it is much wider than expected.

Just got home from the pro bass for this exact deal. Only really plan on using it for leveling and mounting scopes, and probably cleaning too. Figured with the deal it was time to blow that gift card that has been sitting int he night stand.
