| Of all the choices out there, which did you choose and why? How is it shooting some of the big bored cartridges? Recoils issues? |

If you want a TC Contender or Encore with much recoil then you will need to get a custom caliber barrel bigger than TC makes. 375 H&H that has very little kick even without the can http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa166/redtazdog/40calcan19w.jpg 50 AK that has very much kick with 650 to 800grn pills http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa166/redtazdog/TC50AKbipodmount51w.jpg 44 mag with very little kick http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa166/redtazdog/TC44magintegral2w.jpg 22-250 http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa166/redtazdog/TC22-2503w.jpg 510 whisper http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa166/redtazdog/510Whisper1w.jpg . I dont have Recoil issues Wow those are some awesome firearms you got there. |

Don't forget black-powder: http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk64/drfcolt/General%20Firearms/100_1744.jpg That is my hunting muzzleloader (which is what got me thinking about the contender) |

Had my 44 Mag Super 14 rechambered to full length 444 Marlin by SSK. No range visitor EVER asked to fire more than one round. One benefit is the 1/20 44 Mag twist lets 300 grain projectiles stabilize. A 300 grain hard cast bullet at 1900 fps leaves a decent hole.

Got my first Super 14 Contender in the early 1980's.
Couldn't decide on which caliber I wanted more (30-30Win or 223Rem) so I bought both BBL's. A few weeks later I bought another frame. Both are scoped and I installed a muzzle brake on the 30-30. When the Encores came out I bought a 308Win in stainless. One of these days I will brake that one also. I have been thinking about getting a 460S&W BBL for it... I still can't seem to get any of them to bump fire tho... ETA ------ as far as recoil -------------- If you don't like shooting 44mag handguns you definitely don't want to get any of the 30-30 and larger Contender/Encore chamberings... |

Youre talking to a guy who shoots a 4lb H&R 12 Gauge w/ 3" slugs for fun...i dont mind recoil at all. |

Anyone know of any outfit that has any of these in stock????..... Your best bet would to contact SSK Industries and have a barrel made. JD is the man when it comes to the Contender and Encore. He has done work on my Encore and it is done right the first time. |

Another outfit making custom barrels is MGM, http://matchgrademachine.com/
And Bellm TC's also has unchambered Bergara barrels that he can custom chamber for you, http://bellmtcs.com/store/ |
