I'm going to sign up for some handgun and rifle classes this year and electronic ear protection is required?
What is working for you guys? |

I've got a few peltors. I also love my in-the-ear custom molded. They are ridiculously inexpensive for how well they work. Worth the money to get molded in-the-ear to use in combination with the peltors when shooting at indoor ranges. I can still hear clear as a bell and plenty of hearing protection. |

Same here, they work great. |

I've got Peltor Tactical ear defenders. Not sure how I ended with the 'tactical' version, or exactly why they're tactical...
They are OK, although one pair has electronics which don't work properly. Too bulky for trap shooting - I hit the defenders when I shoulder my shotgun. Sound moderation is sufficient enough. |
| Ive got a set of the Winchester Electronic muffs that Walmart sells for like $30. Work fine for me. Only downside is that they are kind of bulky, and arent really comfortable to wear around your neck when you arent using them. Ill probably end up investing in some lower profile, lighter weight ones down the road, but for right now, they work fine. |

Definitely these. I've had mine for about 8 years and they still work like new. We also use them for the ranges at work and have never had a set go down, but the 20 sets we have are only about 3 years old. |

MSA Sordins. With gel cups, their comfort level is unbeatable. The fact their electronics are water proofed and durable is nice too. Buy once, cry once. I used to be a fan of cheap electronic ear pro until I ended up having to replace em a few times. I have these, I think they were worth it. |
| If you want good cheap electronic protection try some Caldwells, I order them online for like $25, cheap enough for me to keep a pair in every bag & case I have. I've bought 5 pair over the years for myself of for gifts and none have failed, good battery life as well. Although they're not electronic, I do have a pair of Howard Leigh ear muffs with an MP3 jack for yard work, they're great for the $$$. If we're talking over $100 budget I'd go for Peltor, who make a nice behing the ear model. i think it's called the Tactical Pro Neckband. Most behind the ear models I've seen use two sets of batteries though. |
