Does anyone own consecutive serial number guns? What is the idea you shoot one and save the other? I don't understand why people seem to pay premiums for this can someone educate me?

Couple years ago I bought 2 larue lowers at the same time.  Came consecutive serial numbers, thought it was pretty cool. Build both the guns the same and gave one to my dad.

Have since sold both, wish I would have kept them

I've got three Stag lowers with consecutive serial numbers.  They are built up waiting for the boys to come of age.

I have 2 sets of lowers(set of 4 and a set of 6) that are consecutively numbered.
Ehh, it's the way they came.

I got my Spike FLHTLs all consecutive numbers.  I was stoked because after talking to Mike. It is a good idea and helped out putting the orders correctly.  And yes, I do use them.

I bought several 1911 frames with consecutive numbers.   I'm thinking about building a matched pair with two of them.

I have two CMMG lowers with very low consecutive serial numbers.  Didn't pay a dime extra.

I think that with custom handguns like single actions and some 1911's. A way for the companies to make more money I would love a matched pair of either but will not pay the preiums they want for them. lol

I do, NIB 1992 22/45's with 3 digit consecutive S/N's:

Why? I collect old style 22/45's and needed this model, when the pair popped up. I paid ~$100 premium for the pair.

Guns that are already collectible are even more so with a consecutive pair. Guns that have no collector value, like a new manufacturerd lower or ones made by a "shooter" company would have mere novelty value in a consecutive pair. Very few, if any modern civilian ARs are truly collectible and it wouldn't make any difference if you shot a consecutive pair. Most of these could be ordered as a consecutive pair, so you'd have to be of fairly low intelligence to think there is a premium in something you can easily acquire.

My FFL charges me just one price for everything.  Most of the time I have stuff shipped in from many different places.  A lot of my AR15 lowers have consecutive numbers.  It makes it easy for him to do the paperwork.

I had a run of 10 Mega lowers.

I think they carry more value especially in pistols and people who buy AR variants...

Here's my consecutive "GUNS UP" pair of Ruger Vaquero .357 Magnums.......

Nice! I'm getting my feet wet in cowboy action shooting this year. I've got a pair of these on order.

Right now i'm using a pair of blackhawks with long (6.5 or 7?) barrels, too heavy.
