Buy it now regardless. No one has a crystal ball. Rarely do prices come down enough to matter but they will certainly go up.
I remember those big plastic tubes of South African ammo from a few years back, they were dirt cheap by todays standards even at the time they were the cheapest game in town but many didnt think how ammo prices would go up over the last 10years or so. |
| The prices never seem to go down on the ammo, the prices of other parts mostly uppers sky rocketed then dropped to reasonable prices. I don't remember a lot as I already had one AR at the time, and thought I would never need another one, man was I wrong. I remember in 2006 I could buy 1K rounds of PMC for $150, that same case is around $300 now, so in 6 years the price has doubled, I wish stocks did that well. |

There are other factors too.
Supposing you are a widget dealer and today you get an email flyer from your distributor containing and announcement of a price increase on the widgets you carry due to a materials cost increase or currency fluctuation. Do you, (a) Sell what you have in stock at the current price and pay the increased cost of restocking your widgets out of pocket. or (b) Mark up the price of your current stock of widgets on hand to cover the cost of restocking next week. When multiple wholesale distributors are vying for products from the same producers those that are willing to pay the most get the most. Same thing goes for manufacturers when buying from raw material suppliers. |
