I didn't see too much price gouging from some of the vendors here...Well, Cheaper Than Dirt was, but I had orders in with many vendors, and they honored original prices without making up supply and demand price hike stories....In fact, I don't think I paid a premium for anything during that time period. In fact, companies like Rainier Arms wasn't pulling that kind of shit like some folks....

I had a nice sizable order for ammo through SG. They were out of stock, but HONOURED the original price, and shipped everything promptly when it arrived back in stock. Cabelas did the same, as did Rainier Arms. There are good, honorable folks in this industry.

I remember a local shop who had a complete Bushmater lower a couple months before the election for $349...once Obama got in that same lower had a $500 price tag on it, same guy wanted $50 for a generic 50rd box of 9MM ball. I have not been back in there since.

There were local shops around here too that was pulling that crap. RRA AR's jumped to $3K!!!

I've lived through this panic buying BS stuff before. '89 ban, '94, and 2008...It's all hype by the dealers, and they get their cronies to post crap on the Internet to spike demand, as an excuse to hike up prices. The sheeple fall for it time and time again. Those poor fools who dumped $3K into basic AR's, can't get even half that for 'em now.

On Election Day, 2008 I went out and bought two RRA stripped lowers for $126.48 each, including tax.

Not a great price, but the dealer had lowers in stock, so it could have been worse.

They were around the same price.  IIRC, I think a Spike's lower was about $100 or $110 in September before the election.  This was before they started the $79/$89 prices and you could order them directly from Spike's without any real waiting period.
