What do you guys think about an Accupoint on a .243 bolt action hunting rifle?  I was considering either the TR24 or the TR20 (3x9).  Do any of you run one of those with the triangle reticle for hunting?  I figure the .243 is good out to 300m or so, thus I dont see needing to reach out 500+m, so the 1-4x would be sufficient.  But my eyes like the 3x9 magnification.    Does a 4x provide enough magnification out to 300m or so?

.243 is actually pretty good out to 600m plus. If you can, go with a 2.5-10power scope, they're a little more versatile than the 3-9. I'm not a huge fan of the Accupoint line but other people seem to love them so you really need to go look through one.

I have a 3-9 with the green mil dot reticle on my 6.8spc that I use for a hunting rifle. I really like the scope.

1-4 TR24G

3x magnification

Out to 500yds is pushing it but doable.
