I recently acquired this rifle in trade. It's a Remington 700 in 6mm with a heavy barrel. Looks to be made in the late 70's or 80's. I already ordered new Leupold bases and rings to get rid of the crap that's on it. It's a Field and Stream scope 6-24x50, looks pretty clear but im not sure of the maker or quality. Any guesses on what it's worth

Looks pretty nice! What'd you trade for it? I'd get a new stock though, but I'd keep it wood.

Traded for an AK and he gave me some cash. AK was a Romy G kit with a Nodak economy receiver and K-var stock set. Think im gonna leave this all original. Ordered some 105gr. A-maxes hope it's got enough twist for them,

Unfortunately Gunbroker is like the Field of Dreams for us gun owners...people believe that if you post it...they will buy.  Price is often an afterthought.

It is older than you think.  Probably the late 60's early 70's.  It has the old bolt locking safety, short bolt shroud and fleur de lis style checkering.
