I was fixated on the other two manufacturers in my previous post until I went to my local dealer and ordered an CZ 22 today. He had sitting on his counter a PWS model 214 - 7.62cal and I really liked its weight and feel.
It has a "long stroke piston" with a "AK-47 bolt carrier group" or I should say built based on the AK-47 bolt carriers design. Since the AK-47 has a superb non jamming record the PWS Model 214 makes it quite tempting. My question is, are there any one in this group that owns one or at least this manufacture and how do they like it? Thank you, Mike |

Thank you, Mike While the PWS is a fixed long stroke piston (a bit like an AK) it does not have anything like an AK bolt carrier/bolt. The PWS bolt carrier and bolt (except for where the piston attaches) is like a regular AR. I love my mk114, the quality of work is very good, and it is a light and very well balanced. |

The only thing really remotely like an AK, is the fact that it uses a long stroke piston....but even that is quite a bit different than an AK. The PWS system is a very nice piston AR......but it's still more AR than AK by a VERY long shot. Sean |
