Cool hand guards. B&T? |

Which u like better? Century or D-Technik? Functionally, for my purposes, they're equal. I'd give the edge to Century based on price alone (I don't care about chrome lined barrel in the D-Technik). WIth that said, this VZ from Century is the third (!) one; I bought one, returned it under warranty, got a replacement, had to return that one under warrnaty, third time was the charm. I like the D-Technik a lot, though. |

This one is not mine. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk137/SsevenN_photo/58paracord.jpg This one IS mine. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk137/SsevenN_photo/VZ58007.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk137/SsevenN_photo/VZ58006.jpg http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk137/SsevenN_photo/VZ58005.jpg Looks good! Any issues folding the stock with the 550 chord wrap? |

One of mine. Just took a class with it over the weekend and shot about 1000 rounds in two days. One double feed due to a mag with a cracked feed lip, zero other problems, and was consistently hitting 16"x22" steel plates out to 250m.

What ammo do you feed it? What port size are you running in the bbl/gas block? Thanks, Sean |

I did the port as large as the port in the gas block. My first gas piston was excessively worn and I was getting feeding problems. I replaced it with another from my 2nd kit and the bitch has been 100% since. It's surprisingly accurate at 100 and beyond. |

I SBR'd mine and am at a 4.5mm gas port in both the bbl and block with the largest piston head I can find and it still doesn't run reliably with all ammo. Ejection is fairly weak, 4-5' at most. I think I'm going to rebarrel it and deregister it as an SBR with ATF. Sean |

Also, if it's built on a US receiver, make sure the piston passes through the receiver freely...I had to open mine up a little due to the piston binding when getting hot. if you were a little closer, I could help you make it work right. |

No...mines a D-Technik. I'll check it though for binding. Mine definitely is not getting enough gas. It's short stroking and actually stove piping spent casings where they get caught between the front trunnion and the carrier. It is really bad with low powered ammo like Golden Tiger. Brown Bear USUALLY runs....but if it doesn't run 100%, it ain't worth much in my book. Sean |

Mine loves Golden Tiger and the casings are ejected well away from me. If possible, you might see if you can't open it up to 5mm. I think I did mine to 5/32". Your problem is in the gas system for sure. 5/32" is close to 4mm. 4.5mm is .177". 5mm is .197". Talked to the CZ folks through Dan at Czechpoint....he was told that going larger than 4mm wouldn't result in it running any better. You have to remember too that larger the hole, higher the volume of gas but the lower the pressure at a certain point. I'm beginning to think I've got too large of a port. In any case, I even bought a Dlask XB-2 (KX3 knockoff; similar to a Bulgy 4 piece brake) to try and build more backpressure to get the VZ to run.....but it only helped marginally with Brown Bear and didn't seem to make much difference at all with GT. Further, it added quite a bit of length to the gun....damn near back to what it was before being cut down for to SBR length, so I wasn't really worth all the effort. Sean |

Is your piston head loose in the gas block? You shouldn't be able to get any wiggle out of it at the head while in the block. If there is, you might need to have an oversized piston made. A few thousandth's can make a big difference. No. Just checked it. Wish that were the case....I'd probably just get a new block from Czechpoint. Sean |

Rushmore this summer, drop me a line and we'll get it fixed. |

here is my In-Range built beauty..she runs flawlessly at either 3mm or 3.5 mm gas opening http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q285/bigdaddytom/DSC04196.jpg Does it run Golden Tiger? Dan at Czechpoint has an In-Range built VZ SBR and it won't run GT reliably....and Troy had to open it to 4mm to get it to run with most ammo. Just curious. Sean |

Dan, myself and Troy all bought the recievers together, Dans gun is a brother to mine. i have NOT ran any GT thru mine so im not sure, next range trip ill ry to acquire some and see how it goes..i think ive put 4 brands thu it but no GT. Thanks. I'm going to try to increase the carrier speed by reducing the resistance in the system (either through modding the piston spring, recoil spring or both). Going to be awhile before I can test it....but that's the next plan since I'm not having any luck porting it larger. Sean |
