First things first, I'm moving this to General Firearms Discussion so you can get opinions on the trade.

I would say it is worth about 250 -300. im not sure on the specs of the scope but he said he paid around 250 or so for the scope.

your gun was about 800 new?

his gun is about 500 ish with a scope lets say 150-250

so around 750 total

i think your gun and maybe 150-200 cash would be fair

My shotgun is about 6 or 7 years old with a couple hundred rounds through it.

If you want to reap the benefits of that heavy barrel, your going to need to shoot match ammo, or reload match ammo.

Take it from me, I've fired almost every type of commonly available .308 and nothing beats Blackhill Match 175 SMK's, Federall GMM 168/175, Hornady Tap 168 AMAX (red boxed stuff), and M118LR.

Standard hunting fodder MIGHT shot 1MOA, but I seriously doubt it. Power-Shok and Winchester Super-X/Silver-Tip stuff is decent, but not really worth it.

Seriously look into reloading. Rolling your own match ammo will get you shooting three times as much ammo for the same price.
