I called bushmaster today to find out the date of manufacture of my xm15. I gave them the rifles serial number, and they told me they dont have any information on that rifle. They said to call back in a month because they are updating their system.  A month???? WTF?????  The serial is L0015xx

I want to know if this rifle is a preban, and if it shipped out as a complete rifle?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Bushmaster is getting merged/moved/generally rearranged by Cerberus group.  Things are going to be chaotic with them for a few weeks/months.

So Aimless, you do not believe it will have an effect on Bushmaster quality?

DPMS/Bushmaster/Remington are all made by the DPMS facility now.

Buying a Kimber .308 instead of a 700 now.

Did you just put Bushmaster and quality in the same sentence.....together??

I would certainly take an older Bushmaster over anything DPMS could throw together.

A few years ago Bushmaster was one of the most highly recommended rifles on this site.  Maybe they're not as trendy (or fancy) as Noveske, Larue, Spikes, etc, but they make a decent rifle.  No problems at all with the BM products that I've owned.  Also no problems with the DPMS products I've owned and used.

Bushmaster rifle production is moving to the Remington Illon, NY plant.   If going by how they are making new Marlin lever guns in the same plant, qualitly might be worse then Hesse/Blackthorne/Vulcan.

If I'm not mistaken, Cerberus is the three-headed dog that guards the gates of Hell. Not good times ahead at SnatchMaster.

prior to the AWB sunset in 2004 if I had to pick an AR it would be a bushmaster.  But ever since the AWB sunset other companies steped up to the plate and with a zillion options.  Bushmaster never got out of the 90's, they offered alot of product but with the same options.  They were/are the GM of the firearms industry.
