I have a Cetme that runs like a champ. I bought a hk g3 stock in black with the recoil rod. I sanded the nylon washer down so it would fit in the bolt carier. I put the Cetme back together and it went smooth. Then I pulled the charging handle and the the bolt carier did not return when I let it go. WHY? I had to take the stock off and even then the carier stayed to the rear of the recoil rod untill i gave it a bump.

Thanks

Is the recoil rod bent?  It might be binding up on the carrier.

I did the same with one a couple years back, didn't have any issues with the mechanism, just that the receiver/stock fit was so tight that it took forever to put it together and take it apart.

Let me know what happens with that.

The only other thing I can think of is that maybe the spring is binding up, but you said you took the stock off and then the bolt still didn't go forward?

This is where I got a majority of my Cetme information before and after buying one.

Got it.. The tip of the recoil rod was to wide. With a caliper the cetme rod measured 4.680 and the hk recoil rod measured 4.795. So with a little grinding on the rod it runs like a champ again.
Thanks
