Anyone have an idea of what the value is one these right now? I have a new in the box one that I have had for since they first came out, and am thinking of doing a little cleaning of the safe.

It's..........Beautiful! Is this something that requires a ton of fab work to make happen?? Thank you! I made the adapter on a Sherline Mini-mill. With a full size mill you could make one in a few hours start to finish. If someone had a CAD model and a CNC mill I bet it would take about 15 min of machine time. |

Thanks God NO!!!!!!!!! It was the biggest POS I ever owned.
Mine would launch the barrel after two or three mags. It want back and forth the them 3 times while under warranty and I had to pay the postage back to them everytime. Finally after the third time the figured out what the problem was and fixed it. I sold it soon after. I'll never buy one of their over engineered products again!! |

CY6 Greg Sullivan "Sully" SLR15 Rifles TheDefensiveEdge.com (763) 712-0123 Does it have all of the updates done to it? To put things in prospective, my local shop is selling a used one (no idea of round count) with the updates for about $1900. At the same time a fully updated used model with a spare barrel went for $1300 on XCRforum. |

They've always gone about 1200 to 1400. Even back in the ban days of early 2000, they were that much money. I almost bought one, but the reviews on these were terrible. It is also a heavy pig made of steel. That receiver should have good durability from the steel structure, but for a modern rifle, it is just not appealing. If you buy one, it's for the looks of the uniqueness of the Stoner63 gun.
XCR is a much better design. |

Very nice. |

With the interchangeable magwells of the M96 we could use AK mags for the 7.62x39 conversion and the gun would be less expensive to make than the M96 |

I had one. Even though it was a later Recon model with supposely with all the upgrades, I still had to have several parts replaced. It also had several jams in the approx. 2000 rds fired through it. However, when it launched the barrel twice, I was done with it. It is one rifle that I don't miss.
Even if it worked properly, it was less reliable than my Colt, no more accurate, weighed a ton & few spare parts or accessories were available. |

When I was working at MSAR, we would end up with hundred, if not thousands of of bent up, mangled rounds on the floor of the test fire room. Some of them were pretty bad. We put them all in a box under the ammo table. One day another employee and member here, brought in his M96. That rifle digested about 98% of those rounds without missing a beat.
We dubbed his M96 the "Mormon Ammo Disposal". |

I would love to see what those rounds looked like. When Ratworx brought their full auto STG556s to the Greater Illinois Bullpup shoot, they brought cases of ratty looking surplus ammo and the guns never missed a beat, even on full auto. |

Mine too, I had reloaded some 223 at min loads would not cycle an AR but the M96 ran without a problem With the underpowered rounds and the weigth of the rifle would double tap steel plates at 200 yards standing with the rifle. The sights did not move at all. |

Ive always wanted a bren configured M96 but I can never find one. I..I. I could kick myself, I passed an M96 up that had the stock upper AND the top feed upper for $1300, unfired. What a dipshit I am. Sorry to burst a bubble but the stock upper IS the top feed upper. Technically what you are saying is true but they are the same piece. When you remove the rear sight there is a slot and the pistol grip section hammer goes in to it. The barrel and sights only differ on the Bren job. |
|
Well here's a top feed for your pleasure... Not for sale, sorry!

I wish they would start making these again......I should have bought one from FAC when they had them. FAC gave dealer pricing to MN resident walk-ins.....to bad they went belly up. If not Robarm then maybe KAC would start producing Stoners again, but in semi for civilians.
