I've made the leap from 14'sand HK's to AR's, and love them, having a .556,.45 and a .50 Beowulf, so I have lots to learn here.I have a problem with the .50 Beowulf- it is that the bolt doesn't completely return to battery when firing hand loaded ammo- 300 grn gold dots,375 grn Barnes XPB's, 500 grn XPS's, overall length is in spec. I have been unable to see if the problem would occur with commercial loads as I have yet to recieve any from Alex Arms(ordered with rifle upper 8 mos or so ago). Some will allow full cycle some won't, and the forward assist doesn't help. The pin in the s-shaped slot on the bolt that causes it to rotate seems a bit stiff ("sticky")when hand manipulated, when compared to the rock river bolt on the .556 AR. Is this a "shooting in" problem, or possibly a taper crimp issue?
Thanks-
DJ

Did you check the case length before loading? I believe the Beuwulf establishes headspace by the case neck not the shoulder, this would lead to the bolt no reaching full battery.

could be a sizing problem.  Years ago when I first started loading for the Wulf, I was having same issue.  Some would chamber fine, and others wouldn't.  I sat down and started checking measurements and couldn't see much of a difference, so I had an itch to just do a better job sizing, low and behold it fixed the problem.  I ended up pulling about 200 rounds and resizing the brass, than rechambered each round and they all fed nicely.
