I got a steel target in today from arntzin targets. It's T-1 steel an the site said it is rated for non magnum pistol loads.
I shot it with my .40cal Glock using standard fmj wwb ammo. There are small dents in the target, no jagged edges or anything but u can feel small dents when you rub your hand on it.

This is my first exp with steel and just want to see if this is normal??

No pistol caliber should leave any dent on a quality steel target besides removing the paint.  You should look for at least 3/8"AR500 for pistol use and 3/8" AR550 for rifle use if you want a target that is safe and will last.
