If this is this is in the wrong area feel free to move it mods. I tried searching everywhere but I could not get a definitive answer.

Some things I know.

1) I'll be buying a rifle from Budsgunshop and they do have my local FFL dealer already listed.

Some things I don't know and would like answered

1) Do I first place my order on Budsgunshop then contact my FFL, or do I first contact my FFL and then place the order online?

Also if there is anything else I need to know about ordering online feel free to tell me.

Thanks in advance

Fear not, buying a firearm online is really simple. I would make the purchase from Bud's, then give your FFL a heads-up that the item will be shipping to him. Before buying, it may pay to shop around a little for what your local dealers charge for transfers. I found a local FFL that only charges $10.00, which is awesome.

Thanks for clearing it up. I really appreciate it

An FFL holder can refuse to do business with anybody for any reason.  Some don't even sell retail.  I would make contact first and be sure they want your business just as a courtesy.

Give your local shop a heads-up. When you make the purchase Buds will contact them and tell them that a purchase has been made and they were selected as the receiving  FFL.

I just bought my first gun online 2 weeks ago.
It was a lot simplier than I imagined. I bought off of gunbroker and then looked around for an FFL.
I found a guy 8 miles away that only charges $15. most other guys in my area wanted $35-45.
I ahve been on vacation since but I get home tmr and will go pick it up then

My FFL charges $20 for transfers, but he's literally within paintball distance

That makes it worth it.

I posted this in the bullpup section for you as well, but here is the FFL Dealer List for GunBroker. Just put in your zip code and it will pull up a list of local FFLs.
