Hello,
I recently traded for a Remington Model 700 in Ruger 204 caliber. Its not anything special, just a 24" barrel and black synthetic stock. Its a standard /stock rifle but I really like it. Here is the problem, the barrel end of the rilfle is so light I can't keep it steady. I don't think my  shooting is the problem. Its so light the rilfe wants to naturally move from side to side while I'm trying to aim from a standing position, even aganist a rest. Is there anything I can do or add to help this situation?

Thanks.

I forgot to mention that I have a model 700 in 7MM Mag that I do not have this problem with.

Thanks.

Get a sock and fill it with shot or small pebbles then rest the butt of the gun on it while you are shooting.  Nothing too heavy, just a couple pounds so that you can carry it around.  Some guys fill them with plastic pellets but they are too light for my taste.
