If you read my thread in the C&R forum from yesterday, you saw I was looking at what I thought was an SVT-40 in a local gun shop for $650, a buddy of mine works there said he could knock a little off that price. After asking the wonderful advice of Arfcom, I was pressured to go back today and buy it. 
I went in to look it over a little better today, and one thing I noticed from yesterday is that the cleaning rod was on the side of the stock, rather than under the barrel. I said something to my buddy who works there and he hopped online in the store to find it was an SVT-38. So after reading what it was, numbers produced, and prices being fetched. I brought her home for $600. 
Im quite happy with my purchase, but now I need an SVT-40.

All of ous old timers that have bought them remember how great we felt when buying them,and how great we felt when we
sold them to another brother that just needed them! The SV 40 with the sniper rail was a good sellar,but just knowing how to use an O ring to help hold the Thingamagini into the thangamabob ! They were a gas operareted thing with self feeding magazine that will clean your clock! Two days in Wellston and pear wood and hickory used for smoking ! Bob |
