I'm getting 8 rifles for my collection.
Why 8? thats the maximum by law in my country...
The rifles is going to be used for target/courses/PSD/PMC work

Fortunetly money is not that big of a consern...

I would like to run backup rifles on some of these.
All weapons need to have a minimum of 16,1'' barrel with or without perm. FH

here is my candidates:

LWRC M6A2
LWRC M6A3
LWRC REPR
NOVESKE
LMT
BUSHMASTER ACR
FN SCAR LIGHT
FN SCAR HEAVY
ROBINSON XCR
AK47
SL8 Modified into a G36
PTR91
Sig 556
FAL
Kriss TDI

I was planning on running the Specter DR on these rifles

Please make your favourite list, and feel free to add weapons and tell my why you would choose these guns?

Since you are in Norway is it possible for you to get a real Sig 551LB instead of that 556?

Also, stick to guns you won't have trouble getting parts for over there. Some of those guns are hard to get parts for over here even.

It is possible for me to buy the real Sig, but im not a huge fan of it, considering that i have to have a bunch of magazines that will only fit that rifle, and the right side charging handle, and not being able to easely change out the upper and no picatinny handguard.
But it may be a good choice, you tell me....

I am planning on having every part exept the serial numbered part in stock.
Thanks for all help in advance

There are picatinny handguards available for the SIG 55X series.

you are right, just found the one from B&T.

Why would you choose the 55x over the 556?

Thank you
hopefully I can get more people to vote
I was planning on having only one or two rifles in .308 because of ammo cost and availability, but I might change my mind.

Have never been a big AK fan, but i guess there is a reason 90.000.000 has been produced
I am a big fan of inovation, did everyone start hating the ACR when the price came out?

well, it's like saying why you would choose a BMW over a Trabant...

Seriously...

A SiG556 is CRAP compared to a Sig553... quality is NOT the same AT ALL....

the only advantage of the 556 is the price of the magazines.. That'^s it.

(in the so called "assault rifles" field,  I own 6 AR's, 1 SiG, 2 AK-47's (3 of them guns are Full Auto) ... unfortunately money IS my limit... not bothered my any laws though..

You've got some very good weapons choices, but you might consider which are the most sustainable for you in parts and service.  People here in the states are not going to understand what it will be like to own these weapons in Norway and sustain them when needed. I don't know for sure, but it would seem like the FN Scars would be a better choice in that aspect, as would the PTR91 being a basically a semi G3 and so might the AR's depending what you're capable of in gunsmithing and have available to you in parts through dealers.

Taking that into mind I'd probably go with to not only have defensive weapons but hunting also;

a couple Scar lights,

a couple Scar heavy's,

a nice bolt action in .308,

a pump defensive shotgun,

an over & under shotgun for hunting,

and a .22lr.

That covers a lot of bases.

Good luck in your choice.

I have no personal experience of the 556 but from the looks of it it's an abortion compared to the 55X. I would personally choose the 551 due to it being less front-heavy than the 550. Both of them are, however, great rifles and they are both very high quality. Spare parts are pretty easy to get in Germany (although you will have less options than with an AR-15).

ETA: If you are worried about the price of magazines you might want to check www.egun.de for used mags.

I am starting to see a trend her, but why does so few manufacturers make .308 rifles, when the majority seems to vote for them
the reson I dont want to have a bunch of magazines for one rifle, is that if I attend a course, I bring about 30 mags, and two rifles, if they use the same mags, and parts, i dont have to bring magazines for my backup rifle in case my primary faiiles during the course.
Does anyone have a good site for info about the Sig 55x series, accesories and prices?

Thanks again for good inputs

If you have no problems getting parts from the US then I suggest:

For 5.56:
XCR and Noveske
As a bonus, with the XCR you can get a conversion kit and shoot 7.62x39. With the Noveske you could swap uppers and do the same.

For 7.62x51:
SCAR-H and FAL

There are several vendors in Germany who have parts listed for the 55X series. Try Google.

You could also try to contact http://capsicum.no/site/. They have regular 550s listed on their site and they might help you with parts and accesories.

again, if you buy a 55X, get a 553... it has the reliability and the mechanics of the 550, but with the lenght and weight of a 551 or 552  (SB or LB, it's up to you)

unless the OP has a military LEO end-user i doubt he can get all those US made "assault weapons"...

Why wouldn't he? It shouldn't be any more difficult than getting regular ARs exported.
