| Does anyone know when the remington acr is going to be released to the public and how much it is gonna cost ? |
|
Current internet guestimate IIRC is June. Likely all will be known Jan 19th.
ETA: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=2&t=301724 Not Remington, but Bushmaster's ad... |

Current internet guestimate IIRC is June. Likely all will be known Jan 19th. June of this year I hope ![]() If this is true then it means I would actually be able to purchase one in June of 2011 after the prices have had time to come down. I hope I'm wrong about this. Maybe Bushmaster/Magpul/Remington will have enough production capacity to produce these rifles in large enough numbers so the price doesn't stay artificially high. $1500 or higher, forget it. |

Shot show is in two weeks, I expect we'll hear something official then.
Heres the current rumor and Link Quoted:
Someone posted that they talked with Bushmaster today. Planned delivery between Feb/March, priced between $1400.00-$1700.00 FWIW, and I'll take mine in black. I personally don’t expect to see for sale till June. But I hope I’m wrong. |
| I thought I read somewhere (and correct me if I'm wrong) but the "Remington" ACR will never be released to the public. The general public will be able to buy the "Bushmaster" ACR and the "Remington" ACR will be reserved for Military sales only? Again, not sure if that's true and if it is, I'm not sure what, other then the rollmark and happy switch will be different between the two? |

I'm not sure what, other then the rollmark and happy switch will be different between the two? The legal fiction that it's made by two different companies to keep the lawyers happy. It will also keep the Fudds happy. They won't have any angst wondering why Big Green is making evil black rifles, instead of happy blued steel with wood or mossy oak cammo. |

ACR UPDATE
We know that all of our Bushmaster fans have been anxiously awaiting the release of the new ACR, so we want to give you guys a quick update. The ACR testing and analysis programs are running right on schedule. We are running it through every imaginable scenario to ensure that it’s absolutely ready to be released. Each day brings us closer and closer to the official launch, which is slated for the first half of 2010. Until then, sign up for our monthly newsletter for more updates and information as it comes available Team Bushmaster http://www.bushmaster.com/acr_update.asp First half of 2010. So by June is their goal. It's more than possible that they could bring it to market sooner. It's also in the realm of possibility that it could take longer. The development of the ACR has been pretty standard in terms of time and a new rifles release. If you have to be one of the first to have one you'll probably want to overshoot with $2K ready to go now frankly. "First half of 2010" literally means any time from now until June they could come out. I would definitely in the future if I was the OP sign up for their newsletter and visit the Bushmaster website. News from SHOT may also bring additional details so pay attention to the SHOT Show thread. |

Nice!! I want one now. But in black. |

Looks like the serial number is on the upper receiver. This is going to make things a bitch later if you want to change things up, unlike the AR. If you ever wanted to change the upper around I guess you need to buy a whole new gun or at least go through the same process as buying a new gun.
The Ruger MK pistols would have been even more successful had the serial number not been on the upper receiver. One of the biggest advantages the AR has is that you can have one lower and a metric ton of uppers while only "owning" one firearm. Just my thoughts on it Dolomtie |

Just my thoughts on it Dolomtie the whole purpose of the platform is tohave a quick change barrel so udonot need to replace the upper. An ar lower can not take ak mags. The Masada could, and if sales work out I am sure the acr eventually will. |

Ahha, I love messing with them when I shoot my ARs, they always ask stupid questions |
