I don't have a BDC Nikon scope, but I have the 2-7x32 on my M4-gery and love it. Ordering a Nikon 6-18x40 for my rifle build.
Here's a link to the optics forum...linky

I have this same scope on my .30-06. No issues whatsoever.

Nikon scopes are GTG.

Check mounting hardware, action screws, etc. 99% of the time problems of "wandering zero" are NOT the scope's fault.

My brain is hurting just trying to read that. Something tells me it's not the scope.

+1  Never had a nikon scope, buckmaster to monarch, fail or not hold zero. Best scopes for the $$ IMO.

I have the Nikon Buckmaster 4x, and a 6-18x40. Both are fine scopes.

I have had a few Nikon's.  I did not care for the BDC it seemed to cover to much of the target up for my tastes even at 100 yards.  I have never had a problem with holding zero.  The one thing that I did not like about the Monarch was.  I had to go up to Medium rings on my bolt action not to clear the objective but to clear the eye box.  They are pretty fat in the Monarch line.

Both my Nikons are older Jap made units ..........very clear and very solid. I have no experience with their newer glass .

The few Ive looked at lately (new) were China made ..........are any still made in Japan?

You sure about that? I handle them on a near daily basis and I've never seen a Chinese made Nikon riflescope. Binos, yes, but even Leupold's cheaper binos are Chinese. The nikon scopes are made in the Philippines as far as I know... And I think the glass is still Japanese.
