I'd like to have a custom stock made for an Izhmash Biathlon Basic rifle that's just too short for my ape arms. I don't, however care much about a mirror finish, 5 thousand years old olive tree wood, or any of the other bells and whistles––just a functional stock to replace the original.
Anybody have recommendations for decent stock makers that you have used or know of their work? |

What about putting a slip on recoil pad on it?
Stock making has fallen to the wayside recently and even if you do find one to make you a stock it is going to be very expensive to have one custom made. Most of the time is spent contouring and inletting so the difference between a nice looking stock and functional staock is going to be minimal when compared to the overall stock cost. I wonder if Stockade gun stocks could inlet one of their stocks for it. Might be worth giving them a call. They make their stocks to your specs. I had mine done with a longer LOP and it wasn't an issue. Dolomite ETA: From looking a the sction of the Biathlon it looks pretty straight forward as far as inletting goes. |
