Most of the work was done when I traded another member here for it.  I just refinshed the metal and the wood, added the cheek piece and the scope.  So far I have worked up a load using 110gn Sierra Varmint HP's that groups just under 1.5" at 100yds off of a sand bag.  Good enough for coyotes and the the small deer we have here in SC.  The light bullets make for mild recoil.  It's not pretty, but it is very functional and fun to shoot.

Nice. Add some BUIS and more importantly a ching sling and you will have a great scout rifle.

That is the real deal sporterized Mauser; the wood the glass and everthing.  Factory chambering?
You even got the toe in the first pic.

+1

I was afraid I'd see some horribly bubba'd guns, but they look great so far.

My grandfather put a lot of food on the table with this in stock configuration.  I felt it necessary to make some upgrades.  .303 British SMLE British Naval Patrol Rifle/Jungle Carbine.
