The Supreme Court agreed today to decide if strict local gun laws violates the Second Amendment!  If you are not a member of the NRA this might be a good time to add some support and kick ass!

there is a circuit split the SCOTUS had no choice but to take the case.

hopefully Scalia will write the Majority opinion for this too.

So will this decide what the Second Amendment actually covers?

Looks like it will decide how far individual states and cities can twist the 2nd Amendment.

Depends on how it is written…

They left a big loophole in Heller by saying, in essence, that the 2nd amendment was not a blank check and could be applied with restrictions. – You can’t outright ban ownership but you can control it to some undefined extent.

So depending how broad or case specific they write a decision will determine the “value” of this decision.

And keep in mind that with the new obama girl on the bench it could set back gun rights for many years if not forever!

A Supreme Court decision is not a slam dunk of legal logic. It is an opinion of the majority and they are free to apply what they think!

Grit your teeth on this one kiddies, we could lose big time just as well as gain ground!

This step would yet to have been taken if it were up to the NRA.  The NRA opposed Heller every step of the way.
