Watched an episode of shooting gallery on the outdoor network the other day and they were showing a big silencer shoot.  They showcased a few of the products and one of them was a multi-caliber can.  He said you only had to buy one can and fill out the papers with the feds once then if you wanted to change up calibers and use it on another rifle or pistol you just had to buy the proper internal for that caliber and just switch it out.
I didnt catch the guys name or the company. I went on the shooting galleries web site and none of the links for that show contained a can like that.

Has anyone heard of a can like it or know if its worth a crap.  It looked like it was well made on the show.

You might want to ask a bit more info in the suppressor section under the armory.  Basically you can get a rifle can in a higher caliber and use it for a smaller caliber (i.e. a .308 can and use it for 5.56 or smaller).  The same can be done with pistol cal cans like getting a .45 cal can and using it for .40 and 9mm.  In some cases  you lose some sound suppression and you gain some weight (with the .308 can on a 5.56 for example), but a lot of guys do it when they don't want to have to buy multiple cans for their guns.  I personally use my 5.56 can on my PS90 and .22lr as well.

Not necessary but, in all seriousness, not an altogether bad idea.

I lurked/read here for well over a year before I ever posted anything, and the site was much simpler/the learning curve much less steep then than it is now... but it's a great site full of good folks and a wealth of information, so don't give up before you get the lay of the land.

I can tell you this much - all parts a suppressor are considered suppressors themselves. You could make a can with interchangable inserts, but each insert would require it's own stamp.

I use my .308 can for .223 as well.

You can use your .30 cal can on a .223.  It's about 90 percent effective doing that.  I started out with an AAC 762 SD and used it on my AR10s and M15s.  Then I got an M4 1000 for my M15s, then a Pilot for my .22 LRs.

I bought my cans from one of the guys on that show.
