For years I've managed to get by without owning a shooting vice, but I just got an Aimpoint for one of the ARs and a 77/22 with a Leupold 4x12x40. I need one and scanning the vast ocean of rigs out there, I am without a clue. You guys in the know, what are your thoughts on bang for the buck ?

OK –– this is probably annoying to most of you guys but I can't stand it any more. Actually, you have had a "shooting vice" for quite some time, I suspect. That's because a "vice" is a compulsion or moral flaw (as in the "Miami" version). I don't consider my hobby a "vice", but when my wife found out I'm buying a PTR-91 on top of the recent S&W442 purchase, SHE thinks it is. What you're looking for is a "vise". Oddly enough, my wife, the former engineer in the family, is probably like you: she is more likely to use a "vise" than I am, but generally spells it wrong. So, yes, my priorities are skewed. Sorry –– for me this is like muzzle "break" is for some of you. |
