Anyone build one of these? If so how hard is it to do? Where is a good place to find parts and info on them? Thanks

If you're building a CETME/HK type gun from a receiver 'flat' and parts kit, it isn't something you can do on the kitchen table. It requires bending the flat into shape with the help of a jig, then TIG welding it while keeping it straight, then welding the trunion to the receiver, then pressing in the barrel and making sure the bolt gap correct.

Thanks for the info I do have plenty welding and fab experiance (I am a maintence person / welder) and was thinking of doing one from a receiver that is cast. How hard is to assemble from the cast receiver? I do have some gunsmithing abilities, I built a .257 on a mauser action, customised a 1911 and built a couple AR15s but wanted to check with people that have built CETMEs before jumping into it. Thanks

Cast receivers add another twist.
Since it's not possible to weld steel to aluminum, the cast receivered guns had the trunnions simply pinned and glued into place. This caused a rash of problems and is one of the main reasons they (cast receivers) are looked down on.  IMO you would be far better off to get a finished PTR receiver from HKparts.net and go from there.

Parts kits have pretty much dried up and are at a premium right now.  A complete kit in nice condition is going to run you approx $600-700+
