I know these rumors have been flying around recently with the Remington AR's and Ruger's new attitude towards high capacity guns.  I heard from the guy who is painting our house that he has a friend at Ruger (seems that everyone in this region does) who has a Ruger AR that he got for less than $500 because he works there.  The guy is mildly retarded so I didn't get too excited but it would be a step in the right direction for Ruger to earn some respect back.

I chuckled at that

They said they were going to get into the fastest selling firearms sector, so people are putting 2 and 2 together.

I think Ruger is generally respected now that Bill Ruger paid for his sins of appeasement by:

1. giving so much money to fight for 2A issues and
2. dying

Rugers revolvers are excellent but they need to stop adding (unnecessary and inconvenient) safety features to their rimfire pistols.  I'm really not interested in any of their other products.

I am sure he is talking about the mini 14 because he does not know the difference between the two.

Also, if Ruger did start building AR15s...and mini 14s the "affordable .223" selling for $700 how affordable will a Ruger AR15 be?

They already made investment cast lowers for Essential Arms back in the 90's before the AWB.

(EA Co, are all forged now )

Just for the record Rugers are not cheaper than the competition.  Look at the new bolt actions MSRP at $1200+.  Thats more than savage, and Remington.

Take a look at the revolvers, Ruger revolvers are within $100 of a S&W Lframe.

I didnt think of that he probably would confuse the two although he used to play airsoft with his nephews and should know what an ar is.

their SR9 is priced better than Glocks with arguably better features and certainly better ergonomics (i only own a glock but my father has the SR9)

I was being literal.  And could you provide a link showing they said that?  I seem to remember something about it but would be interested to read their statement.  Also their new policy is to not leak details until they are ready to ship (SR9, and the keltec ripoff)

A link may be in the other two threads that are posted above.

Yoo mean the pistol which they recalled in mass then redesigned with Glock copied internals

Also I don't believe they've changed their ways at all.

yeah but the redesign was unessesary lawyering.  the gun would only go off it you threw it on the street with the safety off.

The only Ruger I have left is a 10/22.

All other's have been upgraded to better firearms.
