You always need one more gun...
Why?
Because You want one, therefore you need one in order to fufill your wants...

I just got engaged... how do you think this excuse will fly?
My guess is like a rock... but it is almost like good logic.

Anyways, I only really have the money to get one more gun before I get married...
$1300 is the absolute upper limit, and only then if they give me a big "stimulus" package check...

I want some type of .308 high capacity rifle and or some type of High-cap handgun.
I have a 20" Ar-15 I bought myself. All of my handguns are single stack b/c I have small hands.

So I was wondering should I...

1) Spend all my money on a new DPMS .308 rifle Most likely an AP4?
2) Spend all my money on a Kimber 1911 or Springfield Double Stack?
3) Get a decent FN-Fal (Imbel? not century arms) and then a Glock 21 or Springfield XD .45
4) Just get a FN Fal and save $$$ for the honeymoon
5) Just get an XD (.45 5" Tactical) and save $$$ for the honeymoon
6) Just get a Glock 21 and save $$$ for the honeymoon
7) Be satisfied with what I have...

A 20" AR, is that ALL you have? What are "all my handguns"?

Its hard to answer without a bit more detail. In my case, I'm well aware anything I want is want, I truly need nothing.

So, based on that I would say decide what you want to do then choose from there. A .308 semi is fun, but really what would you do with it your AR cant do? I mean hell, 5.56 is gonna kill a pop can just as well as a FAL. Now if you want to hunt thats a different story, but then I would recommend maybe something you can use what you currently have....ie....Get a 6.5, 6.8, 260 or 458.

If you want to do some varminting, I'd say get a varmint upper or go .204 to be a bit different.

If you (like me) just want to plink cheaply for fun I'd put some damn serious thought into a .22 upper (Either drop in or dedicated). Put it in perspective, you can spend 200 for a Ceiner and shoot all day on about 20 bucks after that.

If you shoot a lot for fun and plinking, I would say drop 500 and get a dedicated .22lr upper. If your a hunter type I would go with a 458 or step up to the .308. Maybe a garand even.

But it really depends on exactly what your collection is and what you like to do.

Personally, and dont take this the wrong way please, I would spend 5-6 on something for you, put a bit into a nice camera and the rest on a honeymoon. 20 years down the road I think you will appreciate the honeymoon more then "just another rifle". And with ammo prices being what they are in the .308 line....You may not be shooting it much anyways.

save the cash for the lap dances before the wedding and have fun.

If not, consider the price of .308 ammo before buying a battle rifle.  Look at the AKs at century arms if you want an inexpensive .30cal that's still cheap to shoot.

Also consider something for concealed carry: Walthers new PPS or some other pocket pistol.  You can't always tote a big pistol around with you.

My condolences on the wedding.  50% fail.  But I got lucky.

Get a PTR91F from CDNN. They are for sale right now for only $899. Thompson Center makes the barrels and you can add the collapsible stock for only $99 more. Magazines run about $4 bucks a pop for like-new condition. One of the most reliable .308 battle rifle there is, more accurate than a FAL, more reliable than an AR10, cheaper mags and more evil than an M1A. Get it!

If you've got small hands, don't get a Glock 21. You could also consider an AR10. I got mine used for $995.

And for the "when did you get that"? your response will be "oh...I don't remember".

FYI - she will use the same tactics. Watch and learn from her - women are masters.

I love my FAL, it's hands down my #1 favorite battle rifle.  I bought a kit and built mine.  Ended up buying more kits as gifts for friends and family.  Almost as fun building these things as shooting them.

Just get the FAL, the handguns on your list are nothing special...  Better yet, buy a FAL and a few kits for future builds.

May go with a fn fal... but I'll just buy an IMBEL.

$500 isn't reasonable, unless that's what you consider 40% markup. My local dealer's price(a couple months ago) from the distributor is $363 and change.
