Hey folks,

Came across some new SCAR videos over at youtube.com and thought I'd post them here for you folks.

Some highlights for those of you with slow connections; 35,000+ round barrel life, 90,000 round service life.  Plus, you get the front and rear sights standard.  Awesome stuff.

SCAR Video 1

SCAR Video 2

The SOCOM battle rifle. Environment Tested by SOCOM.

This is one bad #$$ rifle.

Neat. I also heard the guy in the last video mentioned that there was a setting for same rpm when shooting suppressed. Finally.

I haven't talked to anyone myself mind you I'm basing this only off of what I've read on the internet from various folks that attended SHOT this year, but the word right now is 3rd quarter of 2008 for the SCAR L and 1st Quarter of 2009 for the SCAR H.

They did have a 16" barrel version of the SCAR L at SHOT 08' that I have seen pictures of so that is a MAJOR sign that civilian SCAR is coming, because the military SCAR L Mark 16 does not include a 16" barrel as a standard length it goes from 14" to 18".  So they are definetly planning on a civilian version soon.

Price is still not available yet.

Does anyone know what LEO's are paying for these things?

Yeah, because it isn't like SOCOM wouldn't have been smart enough to test for that.

They provide a tool that is set for making sure that the screws can not be overtightened.  The service life is insane on this thing so obviously it can take a serious beating.  Plus, it has a life time warranty that we know will last for the life time of the user since they are a company that has been around since 1889.

Another thing to take note is that even if a ban comes out if it is like the last one you should still be able to warranty replacement parts from the manufacturer by sending your rifle in (even if those parts are included in the ban).  We know they'll continue to produce this rifle for SOCOM and LEO so those parts will be there.  This company isn't going anywhere and neither is this rifle.
