Is it just me or does it seem like people expect to sell a used gun for more than they paid for it, and if the listing on gunbroker contains the words rare (even if its not), antique, police/military, sniper, ar15, garand, or tactical they expect to get a 200% return on their investment. I just saw a new savage 10fp with a "buy it now" tag for $750.00. That is a gun that i just paid 515.00 in a local gun shop. I would guess that 60%+ of the listings on gunbroker have 0 bids because they are insainly overpriced. I like to avoid buying new if i can, but a used gun costs more than a new gun, and you have to buy it from some mystery internet potential scumbag. Even if you manage to save $20 on a used scope, you have no idea what your buying. (rant over). Besides EE (which does have some good deals) are their any good places online to watch for descent used prices? |

The rule of selling is buy low sell high. Since those of us who sell or trade in our old guns demand a high trade in value the prices have to be kept high to get the return. All I can say is look for the deals they are out there you just have to look. 1903's are available for under $500 thats a good deal, SMLE #4 for $150 is pretty good. Colt troppers for $350 and other old S&W revolvers are pretty good deals. What I can't fathom is used Glocks hovering around $450 there are millions of used glocks and everyone one wants $450+ they should be about $200. |
