I dont have ANY experience with Bi-pods, but I have been considering putting one on a 223 heavy barrel NEF I have. what does it require to put one on? it does have sling adapters on the stock, is that what they attach to? thanks again!

I'll try to answer but im not sure if im totally correct.
You can either attach it with a Sling stud.

Or if you have a rail on the front end of your gun you can get a railed bipod adapter which will just give you the stud you need to mount a standard bipod or you can get a bipod that will mount directly to your rail.

Depending on if you have a wood stock or a aluminum forend grip you can do a wood stud screw or a machine screw with a nut, but i have no experience using them. but there’s a pic for reference. Uncle mike makes the one pictured below and I know that Harris makes a lot of mounting accessories

Two examples of what im talking about if im wrong please some one correct me, just trying to answer the guys question to the best of my knowledge.

The Harris bipods attach directly to the sling-stud and have another sling-stud build into them incase you want to use a sling with your set-up ..... www.harrisbipod.com
