| Hello all and Happy Holidays! I am having hell figuring out how to get the bolt out of a bolt action Husqvarna .270 that my brother owns. I am not sure on the model number, but there are no buttons or mechanisms that i see to press to remove the bolt. I have only owned 1 bolt action rifle in the past but that was so long ago that i dont recall how i removed the bolt for cleaning. Any input would be appreciated and thanks in advance! |

Aside from the Swedish Mauser, Husky made two types of rifles, the HVA and the 8000. The HVA's Bolt-Stop is a thin piece of metal lying in a groove in the left underside of the receiver bridge (aka rear receiver ring.). A small serrated button protrudes from the left side of the action. This action is also based on the M-1896/1898 Mausers The Model 8000 has locking lugs shaped like dovetails with a spring plunger ejector and spring loaded extractor. On this model the you must raise the bolt handle at the same time you are pulling the trigger because the sear acts as the bolt stop. |
