| I have a 1917 Eddystone 30.06.Ii has all the original field sights on it.Is it possible to mount a scope without removing all of that and it so suggestions on scope that is affordable.Thanks M |
i don't recall ever seeing a no smith scope mount for a 1917, but that does not mean one does not exist!!! may want to ask down the page a bit in the Curios and Relics section, or go to jouster.com and click on the 1917 section,, hth |

That is a decent mount. I bought a 1917 at a show years ago for $150. It had a destroyed bore (really pitted, corroded & would not shoot). Bought a duplicate replacement barrel in the white; i think it even had 5 grooves. Anyway, I sent the whole mess to an FFL in CA where it was transferred to my older brother who got a smith to install it & re-blue the gun. True, the colletor value was destroyed. But the gun shot so well that my brother put the B-Square mount on it & got the thing shooting close to an inch at 100 with his own handloads. No permanent mods made to the gun. |
