Hi all just started to post.  Went down to the local gun store today and saw the Sig 556 SWAT.  Cool looking gun except for the fugly looking tac light the comes with it.  At a price of $1899.00 it is alot.  It does not seem as front heavy as my Sig 556 standard.  It comes with the front and rear fold down sights   Mine did not.  I put the Troy Ind. front sight on mine and I'm happy with it.  I would like to get one just because it is a Sig but at 1899 I don't think it would be worth it unless I get alot of disposable cash.  The flash hider on the front looks like it is designed for a grenade launcher.  It is pretty cool looking.  Also looked at the new Guns and Weapons for Law Enforcement.  Has the Sig 556 SWAT on the cover.  Looks like the 556 will be made as a shorty.  10" barrel I think.  Looks great also had a side folder stock.  I collect a lot of guns.  Military type.  I still like the AR design and it is combat proven.  I also like the AK series because it is built like a tank.  But I always go back to my AR's.  A lot of parts and accessories and light weight.  Anyone else with observations on the 556 or on their guns.

The threads on the flash suppressor are supposed to be for a can, as far as I know. I wish SIG would lower the price of the SWAT a bit. by not including the fore grip light combo. Kinda hate to pay for something I don't want. Then going through the hassle of trying to sell a light-grip-whatever thingy that I'm pretty sure no one else wants either.
Any ways I can't wait to get my 556 (standard with the BUIS). My wife put one on lay away as a Christmas present for me.......I think I'll keep her.

I have seen them advertised for under $1600...  Gilbert Guns had some for that price about 6 weeks back...

Yeah I also hate to pay for the Tac light.  There is a picture of another Sig light mount in Guns and Weapons 4 Law Enforcement.  It looks a lot cleaner then the fugly Tac light that I saw.  It would be the first thing I get rid of.
