Please post pics of the best way to dress up the SKS.

Yeah, I know...you can't polish a turd and all that....still, I'd like to do something with it. Just not sure what.

Thanx.

Put a scope on it, and I can hit Charcoal Brickets all day long at 120 yards.

Dressing up done.

ETA:  Maybe change the title to:

What is the best way to TAPCO you SKS.

The SKS is NOT a turd.

I just can't explain it any better than saying "it is what it is".

+1  Nothing wrong with it to start with, and there are damn few decent mods to do to it before you start wrecking it.

I like my SKSs bone stock.

I like 'em stock.

Only decent mods I've ever seen for them were the fixed 20rnd Chinese magazines and AK74 style brakes - but even those I'd prefer left off.

I like 'em stock as well.

Saying that my local shop just had someone trade in a Russian SKS w/matching numbers on bolt, receiver and topcover/handguard in a camo plastic stock and a "hi cap" mag

A stock Russian SKS is about as good as it gets

I like them stock as well.

All of the other stuff is cool if you like but stock is best.

Yup, hard to improve on a stock Ruskie SKS.

I'm glad you guys like 'em stock.

I added all kinds of stuff to mine, though!

Strange - how I couldn't hit shit with it before - and now I'm driving tacks at 100 yds.

The wooden stock always seemed too short, for one thing. (Mine's Chinese, FWIW) I got a decent folding stock, flash suppressor, bi-pod and hi-cap mags. Painted it up nice, too!

I "use" it in a fire-suppression role - to compliment my AR's.

I got it years ago - and saw no reason to let it go; after getting my AR's. It'll make a really nice hand-out. (should the need arise) Ha! I should probably get another!

This was one of the first sks rifles I bought with my C&R license, one of two I ordered from aim that had allmost no finish on the metal and the stock looks like crap. A friend of mine was getting into doing parkerized refinishing and he redid the stock for me.

The sks is not a turd it is a great an accurate rifle....

I own a Russian and Yugo, and use to own a Chinese

I think the Yugo shoots best of the 3 and they do shoot really well, IMO far better than an AK it just doesn't have the sexy forbidden appeal.
