One small prediction............the FN SCAR will be 2k plus...........like the FS 2000, but will eventually come down in price
HK might just have a prototype of the UCP, the 4.6mm pistol. 416/417 civvie shipping dates will be conjectured and models will be on display in all the tacticool finish. Magpul's Masada will still dominate the show with a firmer release date. There will be many more parts and configurations of the Masada in all it's glory. There will be a mockup of the Massoud .308 and PDR. Glock, colt, smith and wesson, will just have more of the same. FN will price the SCARs at over 2k. Isn't it a scream how a smaller company that didn't recieve ANY governemtn R&D money can afford to sell a gun for $600 or so LESS than a larger company like FN? And take 1/4 as much time to do so? Vive' Magpul! A civvie Tavor will be the one thing everyone wishes was there but isn't. TDI will be showing off civvie versions of the KRISS and it will rule. SIG will have more of those nifty plastic pistols with the trigger assembly as the serialized part. The 556 will finally look more like a 550 series. Most ARFcommers will say it's not good enough. No one will pay attention to the fact that the thing seems to shoot well no matter what it looks like. Aurora will release one that looks even better. Trijicon will come out with an optic that mates to a rifle and pulls the trigger automatically when a religious extremist is in the cross hairs. Expect the south to be badly hit with NDs. ![]() Someone will introduce a new caliber/bullet type. Many will get alarmed that it is the choice of terrorists and try to ban it. People will still be making fun of Jim Zumbo. Larue will still introduce a handful of widgets that will be extraordinarily useful. Barret will come out with a rail gun. I will be drunk on good bourbon, making my girlfriend mad as hell at me because, for the life of me, I CAN'T STOP LOOKING AT PICTURES OF NEW GUNS! |
As to the UCP, I have heard the gentle stir of rumors in Kochhead land. Especially concerning more production of 4.6mm ammo. Remember when the P30 came out of no where? Seriously, one day it just showed up at a Milipol show as the P3000. The TDI has a very, very serious possibility of being there. There was a lot of buzz about this gun earlier in the year and there are many photos of various prototypes here on the rumour-web. Look it up on google image search or in the earlier threads about this thing on this very forum. Then again, I readily admit I could be horrendously wrong. |
15 new cartridges will be introduced that no one will care about. 150,000 new AR gadgets will be introduced, 3 of which will be worth while, 149,997 of them will be items previously available but are now an AR product by strategically adding the title "Tactical" to their moniker. 12 new companies will be Ruger, in a desperate attempt to distance themselves from Bill Ruger's policies will donate a urinal made from Bill Ruger's ashes. There will be 12 new guns shown that will perpetually be available "next quarter" or "in two weeks". Beretta will continue to try and corner the burgeoning "sci-fi gun" market. Remington will show off 1 new "winner" and 5 new "stinkers". There will be 127 new poly pistols shown off that all supposedly "fix" people's concerns about glocks, and yet will never sell. Glock will have a roughly rifle shaped object at their display covered in a sheet, but it will be a high tech polymer, block letter sign that says "Psyche!!!" underneath. And, once again, MagPul will steal the show, proving that good old fashioned American know how, stamina, and die hard will trump centuries of Euro tradition any day of the week. |
My legs and feet will hurt like hell for a week afterwards. My bride will call me about 5 times while I'm on the show floor to see when I'm coming back to gamble with her. I'll probably buy an overpriced knife. Hopefully, Benchmade will have beer again. I'll go say hidy to Marty Daniel and drool over their cool rails..... And who knows? Maybe Marty will have a lower..... |
Steyr Mannlicher is coming out swinging! They've already invited some of us to come visit their booth and are really going all out this year to make-up for having to miss last years show. They've got their new mannox finish, which is going to be "THE" newest most harden finish available in the world. I know it sounds like "so what," but this stuff is going to be the new industry standard that all others will be measured against. Their SA1 pistols are coming out strong and their Steyr AUG A3s will be announced as available for LEO department purchase. Keep your fingers crossed and we might even hear about their plans to expand their US presence even more, which could lead to U.S. AUG A3s for civilians...thats right. Beretta could have some cool announcements with their new rifle in the works as well. With the ARX rifle, which will just be introduced to make us all cry when they say they have no idea whether they'll even consider releasing it here. Then they'll try to push the crap they do sell back on us. ![]() SIG will come out with the SIG Commando, which unlike the 556 will actually be worth purchasing and SBRing to me. The SCAR L and H (MK16 and MK17) will be there in all their glory and will dominate SHOT with all their SOCOM test results back-in to show-off and brag about. The Magpul PDR will hopefully be further along. The Masada will be close to "go-time" they will probably be taking orders for them. Robinson Arms will have their 7.62x39mm ready to go and their 7.62x51mm release date announced. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On the gear side we'll see A LOT more folks in the industry coming out with Multicam everything. Look for new stuff from the folks at Crye that they'll never sell, but will display as "not available" on their website just to frustrate folks. |
Remington will release a new camo pattern for their firearms that features gray, white, black, and shiny chrome. It will be called Urban Decay. They will not introduce any new firearms. Browning will wonder why they didn't think of that first and will spend the rest of the show sulking. Colt will use the same cardboard cutout of a booth (complete with smiling "sales" people). It dates back to 1986, and it is a fire hazard. It will be burned down by Winchester, who will show up drunk and still unemployed. That guy is an embarrassment. Thompson Center will announce the return of the 30 Remington. The press release will explain this bold new move. "It fills a niche. Actually, it is pretty much a worthless cartridge, but we found a reamer for it in a drawer and we got bored. So we said, like, WTF? Why NOT have a .30 Remington barrel for your G2? So buy one, bitches." The Glock booth will be a perfect square cube of black granite. There will be no windows, no doors, no nothing. The outside of the cube will feature the single word: Perfection. It will emit a strange humming sound. Sigarms will announce that they are suing all other firearms companies, as they feel that Sigarm's price increase has put them at an unfair advantage in the marketplace. Smith and Wesson will announce that they have finally decided to put their differences behind them, and that Smith's declaration of 2007 calling the .500 cartridge "asinine" and "useless" was misquoted in the media. Wesson will finally forgive Smith for the SW9. The will go back to giving their firearms proper names instead of model numbers. The Model 19, for instance, will be renamed the Downright Fucking Masterpiece. Ruger will show off their "new" Mini 14. The synthetic stock will be covered in a full legal document describing -in detail- the limited liability agreement the shooter is accepting when they squeeze the trigger. Four lawyers had to die to complete that masterpiece of limited liability agreements, but it was worth it. The stock also features an electronic monitor that detects when a magazine with more than 10 rounds is inserted into the action, and this is electronically reported via a wireless connection to the Department Of Homeland Security. |

Serbu will be displaying the BFG50A ready for sale in approximately 2 weeks. Saint-Étienne (makers of the FAMAS) will be at the show displaying there new weapon, a large club with a pointy rock attached. Numerous AR15.comers will hail the weapon as a brilliant battle tested implement far superior to Steyr's club/rock combo despite the french club taking a proprietary french rock. TAPCO will finally release their new stock for the SKS. It will be a large plastic shell in the exact shape of an AR15 and will cost approximately the same as a real AR. Sig will copy and release the new TAPCO shell, tell the American market we are too unsophisticated to understand modern firearm design, then recall all the new stocks so that a slightly retarded swiss child with a dremel can grind the scope rail somewhat level. MSAR will announce a joint venture between themselves and Steyr to release a US legal copy of the AUG A3. When the rifle ships and Steyr complains about the numerous faults of the new design, MSAR will fire Steyr. IMI will be displaying there new civilian legal Tavor, all guests will be required to show canadian ID to look at it. S&W will be displaying there new edition of there new M&P pistols, salesmen will still constantly accidentally refer to it as the Sigma. H&K will not have an actual booth, merely a large banner in the back that states in German "FU American civilians!" Finally, the big shocker of the show will be Jim Zumbo's announcement that he will be running as Hillary Clinton's vice president to "give a voice of support to gun owners". 2 days after the election, all firearms VP Zumbo does not personally own will be banned outright. |
HK will announce civilian release the 416 & 417 Colt will come up with a piston AR system but won't sell it directly to civies Ruger will announce introduction of a new defensive CCW handgun caliber CZ-USA will introduce a US version of the VZ-58 rifle US made copy of Steyr Aug will be available Sig USA will have worked all the bugs out of the Sig 556 Metal replacement frames for the US made Glock will come out -oh wait, all those things have already happened. Prediction: Final production configuration of the Masada will be shown & will dominate US sales once its released. These ARE the good ol' days boys. Buy what you can now & don't expect them to let you keep your stuff unregistered (if at all) during the next ban. 2008 & Hilary are a comin'. |
You need to go wash out your mouth.....
Yeah right. Seriously, the SCAR is fugly. The magpul is like a more elegant & refined SCAR, that will just happen to do more, cost less, & look better doing it. If you push the issue, I'll be forced to make a poll & show you how wrong you are. |
Yeah, I'm sure everyone will just pass right over a rifle that won the most competitive weapon's procurement competition in almost what 40 years, was envisioned and developed with feedback from SOCOM and has been tested far beyond any rifles in decades passing with flying colors. ![]() Can the Masada say that? How many firearms has Magpul produced? Sorry, I like the Masada as much as the next guy and I'm sure it will cost less. However, the biggest rifle going on the Civilian market in 2008 is the SCAR hands down. |
Following Armalite's decision to market a copy of the CZ-75, there will be EVEN MORE clones of the CZ-75 for sale. What copies are there of the CZ-75 pistol? Bren 10 Colt Z-40 Springfield P9 EAA Witness Tanfoglio (same) IMI Baby Desert Eagle (frame cast by Tanfoglio) ITM 84s Sphynx Huglu Star M30 Armalite AR-24 Norinco NZ-75 and of course, if you want the original, you could check out www.cz-usa.com |
CZ-75s rock. They're like Eastern European 1911s. |
HK Will announce a civilian 416-1. It will be a 416, except modified in that it can only accept proprietary single-stack magazines. These magazines will be limited to ten rounds only and will cost $50 each. The upper and bolt will also be modified so that people can't simply put the upper on an existing ar lower and use existing magazines. The weapon will also be grey. Glock will have absolutely nothing new. Steyr will announce the AUG A3 for the law enforcement market. When asked about the civilian market they will simply say "we don't know" as if they hadn't intended on anyone asking that question before they came to the show. FN will announce a new version of the F2000 and P90. These new versions will cost more money and add features that nobody even asked for. All questions about the SCAR will mirror Steyr's AUG A3 conversation. Magpul will be the most crowded booth at the show. Larue will be the second most crowded booth at the show. Knights Armament will show off a new top secret plasma rifle behind the scenes. A picture will end up taken by someone who caught a split second glimpse and they will talk about it on the internet. They will not ever actually post the picture. Colt will display their piston upper. They will act enthusiastic about selling it but it will never actually be produced. Beretta will release another space-age plastic gun that nobody will take seriously. It will be ugly, expensive, and unavailable to civilians. Nobody will seem to mind much. Sig will release new versions of the 556. These versions will be equally capable as the Masada, SCAR, and 416 as a fighting rifle. Everyone will still complain that Sig doesn't simply produce the outdated 80's-era 550 design instead though. Bushmaster will take a POF piston rifle, slap a bunch of random parts and accessories on it, chamber it in a strange round nobody uses, and release it as a new model. Armalite will release a piston version of the AR-10 cobbled together from POF uppers and spare AR-10 parts. Nobody will remember it and it will never be produced. |
Just got our shop's copy of the SHOT SHOW magazine...Remington will have AR-15's now...called the R-15, made by Bushy for them, chambered in 5.56 and .204. I'd love to see a number of cool new Glock products, but I'm already prepared to be utterly letdown by them yet again! |
If I could call upon the rest of Arfcom to settle this... Masada or SCAR poll. |
Doesn't everyone else know yet that HK has already announced civvie 416s? They're a coming, also the 417. And, ahem, FN SCAR<Magpul Masada Only thing that will in any way hurt the Masada's publicity is if Glock has a carbine that looks better than a Kel-tec SU16. And Kel-tec will have more on that sweet .308. |
- Waiting to see LWRC 20" SABR - SCAR 1st on the list for me (with the Masada a close second) based on a probability of seeing any HK 416/417 arrive for civilian sales. I hope I can eat my words on that one and we do get to see HK deliever but I'm not holding my breath. - I understand the HK45 was released today but I'm going to have to wait and see what the feedback from it is. Picute below from Gunbroker www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=85230207 |
There will be a movment started to officially change 9mm to 9 Millimetah in honor of 60 years of Arnold Schwarzenegger. There is also talk of a competitor to the .50 BMG called the .60 Schwarzenegger. On a side note talk of renaming .45ACP to .45 Norris as both are weapons given to the USA directly from God. |
So do you concede the point yet?
1.) Those damn pull along milk crates will jam the aisles yet again. 2.) Glock will still not have a carbine. 3.) Ares will still be selling SHRIKES and promising delivery. 4.) Ebay will be there yet again. 5.) I will have a great time! ![]() Masada? I've given up all hope. |
GOD THAT WAS THE BEST POST I HAVE EVER SEEN!! |
WTF is that????? ![]() |
A LASER dazzler in development by the AF for crowd/riot control. Supposedly it drops you in your tracks and makes you do the funky chicken. |
