aim had some 200rnd battle packs for $100; cheapest i've seen lately has been the EE

There are actually two places to start:
#1 Go to the AR15 forum and look under ammo prices. At the end it will have some links of websites to try. (Prices and results vary)
#2 Go to www.rifle-company.com. Scroll down to the "Ammo Dump." Look for the link on "Cheapest 7.62X51mm ammo" amd it again has some links. (Prices and results vary)

Between these two places there are plenty of places to look, and lots of ammo to be had.

It amazes me to see 20-40 year old ammo going for the same/near price of new ammo. Who is buying this stuff?

I think that stuff on AIM is $.50 a round because it has reloadable brass.

They sell small amounts of SA surplus occasionally for $43 for 120 rounds.
